Dr. Mary Beth Thanhouser serves as the Johns Hopkins-OurCrowd Alliance Manager at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures. In this role, she focuses on fast-tracking collaborations between Israeli digital health start-ups and medical experts across The Johns Hopkins University, Hospital, and Health System. From identifying faculty champions to managing pilot timelines, Mary Beth serves as a central point of contact for start-ups to navigate the Hopkins ecosystem, enabling rapid validation in a world-class healthcare ecosystem. As an engineer-turned-entrepreneur, Mary Beth founded the food innovation start-up Innovesca based on technology she developed with support from the Gates Foundation and National Science Foundation, with the goal of revolutionizing the way people think about nutrition. With a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and a BS in Materials Science & Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, she brings more than 10 years of experience in R&D strategy, interdisciplinary problem solving, and project management. Her passion for engineering innovative approaches to solve global challenges, combined with her deep understanding of academic medicine, blends perfectly into the core mission of the Johns Hopkins-OurCrowd collaboration.
